‘RAIN – ADOLESCENTS IN THE RAIN’/ AUTUMN/WINTER 2010-2011

Fashion designer Hyun Yeu presents ‘RAIN’, the second collection from his menswear label ‘ADO LES SCENTS’, on January 31st at the catwalk of the Amsterdam International Fashion Week.

‘Rain’

‘Rain’ is a menswear collection based on having fun on a rainy day. Playful, yet chic, practical, yet elegant. Shielded by dark inconspicuous shades, enlightened by colorful elements. This collection is about daring to face the rain with a smile.

The main character in the collection is the coat – which will appear in many shapes and sizes. Classic menswear items as suits, shirts and pants are combined with youthful and playful garments as long johns, the cape, rain coat and bomber jacket. A lot of attention was paid to the development of form, fit and cut of different garments. This has resulted in beautifully tailored jackets, sharp shirts and comfortable knitwear. The rich combination of items in this collection represents the many different characters of adolescence. For the catwalk show the collection is smartly styled with classic black and dark blue brogues by Van Bommel and leather gloves by Gloves by Pia.

Dark shades of blue, grey and black, are mixed with lighter colors of blue and grey and surprising elements of bright orange, metallic brown, silver, blue and copper. Natural luxury fabrics as wool, cashmere, silk and fur are combined with reflecting high tech fabrics and comfortable jerseys.

Hyun Yeu

Korean designer Hyun Yeu is the driving force behind the label ‘ADO LES SCENTS’. He graduated at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 2008. In 2009 he won the Frans Molenaar competition and started his own menswear label. With ‘ADO LES SCENTS’, Yeu sets his standard for menswear –  elegant high quality menswear in innovative shapes and fabrics. The label aims at young-minded men that are not afraid to stand out.
